Communication

Facebook

Facebook is our primary means of communication with parents and is a wonderful opportunity to display the pride we have for our westie community. Photos of students on TRACK for success dominate the posts and we encourage parents to celebrate effort and achievement along with us.

SMS

Our administration officer will send home reminder text messages to the nominated mobile phone number regularly. This includes a daily text if student is absent from school. This text is also a prompt to notify the school with the reason for student absence as required by law.

Class Dojo

Class Dojo is used to earn points for being on TRACK. Students have goals each term to attend rewards day. Each term the points will be reset and students will have a new opportunity to achieve, succeed and attend our rewards day. I would encourage all parents and caregivers to join our CLASS DOJO, keep in touch with teachers and up to date with what is happening in the school and monitor, talk to and encourage your child to make great choices, every day! If you haven’t signed up for CLASS DOJO, please ask your child for the information or check-in with the classroom teacher.

Emails

Often information from the school or community groups is passed on using email. Please ensure the school has your current email. Behaviour incident notifications and report cards are also emailed at times.

Parent teacher communication

Staff at Bundy West value regular communication with parents.

Parents are encouraged to develop a line of communication with their child's teacher.

Teachers have work emails which parents may use to facilitate effective communication lines, or request for a phone call or meeting through the office. Please remember, teachers are on class during the day and may take up to 48 hours to respond.

Often staff may “catch you at the gate" for a quick chat at the end of the day if required. We know working together makes a difference.

Parent teacher interviews

At West, interviews usually occur in Week 9 of Term 1 and Term 3 in our school library (L Block). Parents call the office to book timeslots with specific teachers across two afternoons. Each parent teacher interview is 15 minutes (speed teacher dating). Students are welcome to attend with parents for a three way conversation.

Report cards

Written report cards are emailed home at the end of each semester.
